Systema workshop-Max Franz coming to Maine!

It is my great pleasure to announce a fantastic training opportunity right here on your doorstep!

April 10-11, Senior Systema Instructor Max Franz will be teaching 2 days of inspired work at Bowdoin College in Brunswick.

"Systema: Health and Self-defense"

"Know thyself". You will learn how your body and psyche works in ways you never imagined. Stretch your ability to adapt, be creative and calm under stress. We will explore specific combat and health applications from a broad perspective, touching on all aspects of human function. Feel free to bring your questions, we'll set aside time for that. The group will determine the details we cover, but the overall focus will be developing awareness of your function and limitations in a variety of situations, and how to improve that function.

We will start Friday night at 7 with an optional two hour warmup and introduction (taught by yours truly). Max will teach from 9 to 2 Saturday and Sunday.

No experience required; bring some comfortable, durable clothing, and an open mind. We look forward to seeing you there!

  • Location: Morrill Gym, Bowdoin College, Brunswick Maine
  • Times: Friday 4/9 7-9pm, Saturday and Sunday 4/10-11 9am-2pm
  • Cost: $200, check or paypal (Discount for Bowdoin students and staff)

Instructor: Max Franz is the senior teacher at Systema HQ in Toronto under Vladimir Vasiliev. He has been training in systema for 12 years. He served in the Russian Navy, and recently appeared on the Spike TV show "Deadliest Warrior" as a representative of the Russian Spetsnaz (special forces) with fellow Systema Instructor Sonny Puzikas. He is an excellent teacher, and has taught workshops across the globe.

Directions and more information will follow shortly.

I look forward to seeing you there!
